Operation and management of the Deep-sea Scientific Drilling Vessel CHIKYU
MISSION 1
Drilling Operation
Using the offshore drilling equipment and the dynamic positioning system (DPS) equipped on “CHIKYU”, we provide all services required for scientific offshore drilling operations based on the Marine Science Research Plan formulated by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). After the drilling, we may install a seafloor seismograph or perform coring to collect geological samples below the seabed.
MISSION 2
Marine Operation
"CHIKYU" is the only drilling vessel equipped with DPS in Japan, which automatically maintains a fixed position in the strong current and wind. And we provide marine operation services required for offshore drilling operations.
MISSION 3
Maintenance management of Drilling and Marine equipment
We provide the maintenance, repairing and procurement services of the drilling and marine equipment, etc. required for offshore drilling and marine operations of "CHIKYU".
